Spend a few minutes every day, reading, meditating and praying with God so that you can take one step closer to Jesus every day.
Sunday –Isaiah 9:1-7 – Focus this week on what it means to you that Jesus is the Wonderful Counselor. What role would a wonderful counselor play in your life?
Monday – James 3:13-18, & 4:1-12 – How can we more fully submit ourselves to the “Wisdom that comes from heaven”? How can we be sure that the wisdom we follow is from heaven and not from somewhere else?
Tuesday – Psalm 16:1-11 – What does it look like for you to take refuge in the Lord and get our counsel and instruction from God? How is God’s counsel different from the world’s counsel?
Wednesday – John 14:1-31 – Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit as the “Counselor”. What role do you think the Holy Spirit plays in your life as counselor? How can you be more open to that work?
Thursday – Psalm 73:1-28 – It’s easy to fall into the trap of listening to the world’s counsel rather than God’s. What can you do to “tune your ear” to God’s voice over all the other voices.
Friday – Hebrews 10:1-25 – Who are the people you rely on for spiritual counsel? Spend some time this week acknowledging the spiritual counselors in your life.
Saturday – Proverbs 15:1-33 – Focus on verse 22 – who are your “trusted advisors”? Think through a time when your plans failed because of a lack of wise counsel.
