Kathy Shea – 9 to Know

kathy-familyIf there’s something about Shiloh you want to know, Kathy Shea’s the person to ask. She has been a member since she was 12, and she and her husband, Jim, raised their four boys in the church.

Kathy’s our Children’s Ministry Director, which means she runs Vacation Bible School and helps direct our well-known children’s Christmas play. She’s doing a lot of work at our Price Hill campus these days.

One of Kathy’s favorite Bible verses is Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” In fact, she has it written on her motorcycle helmet.

If you could be any animal, what would you be?

A deer – so beautiful and innocent!

 

What’s the last book you read?

Act or React by Caz McCaslin. (He’s the founder of Upward Unlimited, the world’s largest Christian sports league. Btw, have you signed up for our  Upward basketball yet?)

 

What’s your favorite movie?

Fiddler on the Roof

 

What show are you currently binge watching, or wish you could?

Currently not watching any shows besides the news. Really don’t watch TV. If I HAD to watch something, it would definitely be The Brady Bunch or the Waltons.

 

What’s the best meal you ever ate?

An Italian meal in a restaurant (can’t remember the name) in Chicago.

 

What’s your secret talent?

I have an INCREDIBLE sense of direction. Just ask anyone who has ever followed me or the church bus while I was driving it. I LOVE to go the long way, the scenic route!

 

Who inspires you?

All great leaders. Especially youth, but adults also. And definitely Jesus too.

 

What is your favorite escape from the world?

Walking, sitting outside alone absorbing nature, hiking, backpacking, camping. All of these rolled into one – the great outdoors!
