Lent Devotional

Categories: Good to Know

This is the forty days, not counting Sundays, which begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Saturday. The forty days represents the time Jesus spent in the wilderness, enduring the temptation of Satan and preparing to begin his ministry. (Mathew 4:1-11)

We have all felt lost from time to time. During this season of lent we want to invite you to join us as we focus on how sacrifice, service and submission help us say those famous words, “I once was lost and now I’m found”. This study will be mainly focused around the familiar story of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15:11-32 and we invite you to enter the story yourself.

Note Challenge

During this season we are also offering a challenge to write 40 notes of encouragement and love to 40 people you know in 40 days. It’s up to you whether you send them or not. Take Sunday’s off or use them to catch up.

The Lent Devotional is based on the One Step Closer rhythm. Each week Shiloh puts out a daily devotional based around our message series called One Step Closer. They are found in our weekly bulletin, on our App, and on our website.

Spend a few minutes every day, reading, meditating, writing and praying with God so that you can take one step closer to Jesus every day.
