Mission Statement:

Shiloh United Methodist Church: Developing Disciples. Changing the World.

 

Vision Statement:

Shiloh is becoming the transforming and empowering center of our community, to help people “Be BETTER” as we WORSHIP through love, GROW in faith, SERVE with grace and CARE from compassion.

Guiding Principle:

People need Jesus.

 

Purpose Statement:

To help people align their hearts with God’s heart.

 

Scriptural Basis:

  • Matthew 28:19-20 – Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

  • Ephesians 3:17-19 – I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

  • Isaiah 61:1-4 – “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, … 4 They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations”.

  • Hebrews 6:9 & 8:6 – Even though we speak like this, dear friends, we are convinced of better things in your case—the things that have to do with salvation. But in fact the ministry Jesus has received is better than theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is better than the old one, since the new covenant is established on better promises.
