This week over 200 children and 120 adults and teens are gathering for Shiloh’s Vacation Bible Study. Everyone is having fun with crafts, games, snacks, and Bible lessons. This year the lessons will focus on how everyone can let their light shine because they are uniquely wired and wonderfully made by God.
As a part of this week long experience the children are joining together to help raise awareness and funds for ArtWorks. The children are helping their families become more aware, bringing in money from their piggybanks, and doing a few extra chores to make a difference! ArtWorks is an award-winning non-profit that employs and trains students and local talent to create art and community impact through three areas:
- Public Art – this includes their mural program.
- ArtRx – art therapy program.
- Creative Enterprise – an entrepreneurial program
ArtWorks is the largest visual arts employer in the area and has hired over 3,000 area students, 2,000 professional local artists, and has trained nearly 300 creative entrepreneurs. This summer they will be doing some of their work in Price Hill.
A series of murals along Warsaw Avenue business district in East Price Hill called “Bridging Cultural Divides” will be going up this summer.
This is a series of five murals on multiple walls. The project will employ a project manager, two teaching artists, and 10 students. The murals are being produced in partnership with Price Hill Will and local artists Lizzy DuQuette and John Lanzador.
