Shiloh Endowments

Helping Meet today's needs
building for tomorrow

From the time the first few families gathered to worship together in 1818, Shiloh United Methodist Church has been blessed with the dedication, generosity, and foresight of its members.

In over 200 years of faithful existence, our members have built a succession of church building and additions to be a home to our congregation and all of our significant ministries. Our members have built a faith community of worship, community outreach, and mission support. Significant gifts have been given by members and their families and friends to ensure Shiloh can continue to glorify God, develop disciples of Jesus Christ, and change the world for many generations to come.

The Endowment Committee manages our 4 Major Endowments to ensure that Shiloh is blessed with all the resources necessary to seek and share God's gift of oneness.  We also make sure that all gifts received for the endowments are managed in accordance with the wishes of the donors.

Supporting Shiloh’s endowment funds
Your gift to any of these endowment funds can be made at any time and or as part of your estate plan.  An easy way to gift to our endowments is to purchase an insurance policy and name Shiloh United Methodist Church as the beneficiary. The beneficiary can be a specific endowment fund of your choice.  If you have any other questions, please reach out to our Endowment Committee, chaired by Bob Sears.

General Fund

Provides funding for the daily operation of the church. During 2025 49% of the church budget was funded
by the General Endowment Fund.

Major Repair &
Capital Expenditures

This endowment is responsible for helping with the cost of building repairs and improvements. In recent years the cost of the floor cleaner and several air conditioning compressors have been paid for by this endowment fund.

Youth & Children's
Ministry Fund

Youth ministries, children’s ministries, family ministries and preschool all receive distributions from this endowment fund. Some of the ministries this endowment will fund during 2026 are: Vacation Bible School, Youth Events (retreats, mission trips, Sunday Night Fellowship, Middle School Huddle, etc.),  and Preschool tuition.

"Old Church" Fund

The Old Church Endowment Fund was created to help maintain the original church building built in 1831, which still exists on the property of Shiloh United Methodist Church. This year the fund will pay the cost to repaint the building. In previous years has help with the cost of a new roof and creating Wi-Fi.
