Part-time Custodian
Shiloh United Methodist Church is seeking an organized, punctual, and energetic member for the role of custodian. This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all areas of the church and preschool as well as set up and tear down for weekend events and worship.
Custodian responsibilities include:
-Cleaning and sanitizing classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and public spaces.
-Sweeping, mopping, and buffing floors with annual stripping and waxing.
-Cleaning windows and glass doors.
-Keep all areas neat and fresh.
-Maintain inventory of custodial supplies and tools.
-Set-up and tear down of tables, chairs and other required items for worship and other “all-church” or “major ministry events” as defined by the Pastoral Staff.
-Complete and turn in each daily checklist before clocking out.
-Basic groundskeeping such as lawn care and clearing walkways
Requirements:
-GED/High school diploma
-Commitment to personal growth and healthy lifestyle.
-Ability to work independently
-Ability to be flexible in shifts to fit the needs of the church.
-Ability to perform duties during high occupancy times.
-Ability to function as the “go-to” person for visitors, and laity during non-business hours.
-Ability to recognize and communicate problems and opportunities to maximize the workflow.
Experience:
1-3 years of progressive experience in custodial or related field.
This position is 30 hours. Monday - Friday 3pm-9pm. Opportunity for additional hours on Saturday's and during special events.
